Well hello there, Beeautiful Juicer. You’ve found your way to The Humble Bee, the blog for our company GratiJuice—The Juice Standard (or just TJS, as we like to say).
We reckon we’ve all got something in common: you’re as obsessed with slugging raw, fresh, cold-pressed juice made with a dedication to organic produce as we are, and you can’t.get.enough info about it. Whether for health, for taste, for keeping your insides clean or your outsides lean, you’ve made juicing a tool in your toolbox for maintaining optimum health. And we love that.
Soooo, a little about us.
TJS was founded by two health conscious, food-savvy Las Vegas women who have learned that the road to health and glowing self (…esteem, that is) is paved with the bottle tops of juice, not meds.
For years Jamie and Marcella knew juicers who praised juicing’s effects but hated making it: the machine (expensive); the time (buying and prepping produce); the mess (pulp in places you don’t want it). When they started doling out the raw, cold-pressed elixirs they’d been making for themselves for years, they watched people’s energy rise, skin glow and pounds shed. Folks were getting clean from the inside out.
Today, TJS applies 15,000 pounds of pressure to produce that has been farmed responsibly and locally (whenever possible), and every last drop of nourishing, cold-pressed juice is sold in environmentally responsible glass bottles for your sipping convenience. Every TJS flavor is raw and non-HPP, meaning they’re bottled without high pressure processing (a technique you can read more about here). AND, instead of cracking open that carbonated canned shit we were raised to crave when we needed a little refreshment, TJS juices contain pounds of pressed produce that conveniently deliver the nutrition your bod needs, whether as a pick-me-up snack or a full-on meal.
(Imagine: Recipes filled with so much nuance and love that as you become an ace juicer, your palate will crave the flavors we painstakingly combine—burdock, turmeric, even dandelion! And you’ll learn to pick ’em out, one by one. Hells, we’re pressing the wine of the produce world! And for you, beeautiful juicer, there’s no mess, no hassle…no kidding.)
There’s a splendid little ratio in the Universe that gives meaning to the patterns of everything from the spiral of a sunflower’s seeds to the proportional distance from your head to your feet. Called “the golden ratio,” “the golden mean” or “divine proportion,” the number 1.618 remains the statistical definition of divine balance…a balance that refers to something near and dear to our hearts: the ancestry code of honeybees.
Ahh, the honeybee. In honeybee colonies across the globe there’s the precise ratio of one male worker bee to 1.618 female honeybees (divine proportion at work!). The honeybee is also responsible for pollinating an ingredient in every three bites of food we eat! But that bugger does something else, too…something most humans can’t: Bees work side-by-side their own kind with the singular goal of promoting survival. And to us, that’s truly golden.
That’s why everything we cold press for you, our beeautiful juicers, is powered by our reverence for the honeybee. So when you see our humble little logo with its honeycomb and bee—when you read our “bee” references and our cheeky use of the double “e”—you’ll understand that to us, “To bee or not to bee” is more than a mindful line by Shakespeare. Bees have a near-perfect place in nature. And TJS strives to bring that kind of perfectly natural goodness to you.
